Mentor A Promise, Inc. ("Mentor A Promise," "MAP," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and ethical environment for children, youth, families, volunteers, staff, and community members. We encourage anyone with a concern about safety, misconduct, or inappropriate behavior connected to our programs to report it.

Safeguarding means protecting individuals — especially children and youth — from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and inappropriate conduct.

2Who Can Report a Concern
Anyone may report a concern, including:
- Students and families
- Volunteers and mentors
- Staff and partners
- Donors and community members
- Members of the public
3What Should Be Reported
Concerns may include, but are not limited to:
- Child safety concerns
- Inappropriate behavior or boundary violations
- Harassment or discrimination
- Abuse or neglect
- Online safety concerns
- Misuse of organizational resources
- Fraud or unethical conduct
- Violations of organizational policies
If something feels unsafe or inappropriate, we want to know.
4How to Report a Concern
Concerns may be reported by email:

Please include as much detail as possible, such as:
- Description of the concern
- Date and location (if known)
- Individuals involved (if known)
- Any supporting information
Reports may be made anonymously if desired.
5What Happens After a Report
Mentor A Promise will:
- Review reports promptly
- Take appropriate next steps based on the nature of the concern
- Maintain confidentiality to the extent possible
- Comply with legal reporting obligations where applicable
Actions may include internal review, policy enforcement, or referral to appropriate authorities when required by law.
6Protection from Retaliation
Mentor A Promise does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.
7Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date.
